“Moscow University Oriental Studies Bulletin” is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that focuses on Asian and African studies in various fields of research, such as history, politics, economics, sociology, culture, literature studies, methodology of Asian and African language learning and teaching.

The founders of the Bulletin areLomonosov Moscow State University and Institute of Asian and African Studies.  

The publisher of the Bulletin is Moscow University Press.

Publication of the Bulletin is coordinated by the Institute of Asian and African Studies, Lomonosov Moscow State University. The Bulletin was established in 1957 and is published every quarter (four issues a year).

The aims of the Bulletin are to create a platform for academic discussions in the fields of history, economics, politics, culture, linguistics and literature studies of Asian and African countries, and also to provide access to the results of the domestic and foreign academic research in Asian and African studies.

The goals of the Bulletin are:

- to introduce and provide access to the latest Russian and foreign research results in the fields of history, economics, politics, culture, linguistics and literature studies of Asian and African countries;

- to inform the academic community of the latest publications, research projects and scholarly events in the field of Asian and African studies;

- to provide recognition opportunities for young researchers;

- to strengthen relationships between Russian and foreign academic communities.

 

The scope of the Bulletin:

 

The Bulletin publishes papers and materials on the various topics in the fields of history of Asian and African countries, studies of political processes in Asian and African countries, Asian and African literature and language studies, Asian and African religions and philosophy, international relations in Asia and Africa, economics of Asian and African countries, history of intercultural contacts between East, West and Africa, history of Oriental and African studies in Russia and abroad. The Bulletin also publish book reviews and review articles, information on the scholarly life of the Institute of Asian and African studies and reviews of the important scholarly events.  

 

The target audience of the Bulletin includes Russian and foreign scholars, students of different levels and also the readers interested in the wide range of topics in the field of Asian and African studies.

 

Languages of the articles are Russian and English.

 

The Bulletin is included into “The list of peer-reviewed scientific publications, the where the main scientific results of theses for a Candidate Degree and for a Higher Doctorate of Higher Attestation Commission at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation must be published” in the following fields of studies:  

07.00.03 – General History

07.00.09 – Historiography, Source Studies and Methods of Historical Research

07.00.15 – History of International Relations and Foreign Policy

10.01.03 – Literature of Foreign Countries (Literature of Asian and African Countries) 10.02.22 – Languages of the Peoples of South-West Asia, Near East and Africa; Languages of the Peoples of South Asia, Middle East and Far East.  

 The Bulletin is included in the system of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). 

In the case of reproduction, a reference to the Bulletin is obligatory.  

 

Contributors do not pay for publication in the “Moscow University Oriental Studies Bulletin”.
